Benjamin Gibbard is a musician, singer-songwriter who is most notable as frontman for the Seattle rock bands Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service. Among his albums are: Transatlanticism, You Can Play These Songs with Chords, The Photo Album and Something About Airplanes. Ben has gained a dedicated fan-base for his literate, bittersweet songwriting. After a long relationship with the Seattle-based indie label, Barsuk, they signed with Atlantic Records in releasing the label debut, Plans in 2005.
Ben has been inspired by Jack Kerouac for many years. When he heard from the producers of the film that Jay Farrar was writing songs for One Fast Move, it sparked a collaboration and Ben and Jay recorded the soundtrack last summer at Hyde Street Studios and Prairie Sun in California.
